Ignorance Can Hurt

   I absolutely cannot stand the family of inbreds that make up the Westboro Baptist Church. Their blatant disrespect and gross translation of the Bible, make me not only angry but sick. This family purposefully goes to funerals of fallen soldiers and picketts. They shout ugly and untrue things about the deseased such as "God Hates Fags" and "He's [the soldier] Going To Hell". Families are not able to grieve in peace while this family continues to do these horrificly unmoral things. Where is our government on this? Why have they not been labeled a cult? Why are the police protecting them and enabling them to intrude on private burials?

   I am happy to say that my city of Bakersfield refused this family protection! They wanted to come pickett a funeral here in my city, and the police told them under no uncertain terms that if they came here, they came without protection. Police would not stand beside them. This made my heart leap and I again felt proud of my little town. Typically known as red necks and small town people, I am happy to be counted among them as they were the only one's brave enough to say "NO, we will not allow you to abuse the right of free speech. NO, we will not stand by while you intrude upon these grieving families and shout your hateful comments. NO, we will not protect you from what you rightly deserve...a good swift kick in the ass!"

   No one likes war, and no one wants their family members to go off to some far off land and die. Nobody wants that. But the ugly truth is there will always be a war, and there will always be a need for brave people to suit up and protect our country. They fight for our rights and freedoms. They fight and die so that people like this cult family can do as they please. But what about Morality? Who fights for that? Our government needs to step in and stop this family from doing these horrific things to grieving families. It is our job to fight for those who fight and die for us!
